History
The legend of the Shih Tzu dates as far back as 624 A.D.
Its introduction to China is widely speculated upon,
though it is a known fact that this intelligent dog was
a favorite pet during most of the Ming Dynasty.
Disposition
An alert and lively breed, the Shih Tzu is characterized
as an outgoing, happy and much prized companion with
proud bearing.
Features
The Shih Tzu has a broad head and large, dark eyes.
Its drooping ears are fringed with long hair, and its
snout is short and square. The dog's
coat is long and thick, and comes in many different
color combinations. The Shih Tzu grows about 10
inches (25 centimeters) high and weighs about 15
pounds (7 kilograms). We do have smaller puppies weighing
from 7 to 9 pounds (3 to 4 kilograms) at various times.
Availability
Shih Tzu puppies are available from Andora Kennels
several times a year. Most are ready to leave or be shipped
by 8 to 10 weeks of age. We don't ship any puppies unless we
feel they are ready to make the trip.
Puppies will have been given all their necessary
shots before their departure.
